From Our Family to Yours
In 1947, William Cattaneo Sr., started a beef jerky making business with just $200 and a recipe in mind. He had perfected his ingredients during the 1940's in the basement of a small butchershop in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Sixty years later, the tradition continues and Cattaneo Bros. Beef Jerky remains one of the only true jerky factories in the world. After three generations of Cattaneo's, the Kaney family now runs the operation and the second generation of this family is taking the reins in their 20th Year of their ownership of the company.

The faces in the factory may have changed, but everything is still done the old fashioned and all-natural way. The same instructions and traditions that William Cattaneo Sr., created are still followed daily with each handmade batch.

New faces have meant great new additions over the years. In the mid-80's new flavors were added like Teriyaki, Mesquite and Extra-Hot. The Kaney's and Cattaneo's created the new Turkey Jerky in the 90's. And with their background in meat processing, the Kaney's added extensively to the sausage line with the recipe creation of Pork Apple Honey, Caballero, Chorizo and more. All family trade secrets, the recipes, and attention to quality and detail in the production process are what make Cattaneo Bros.' products one-of-a-kind.

The family has worked hard to keep the production facility up to date with the latest U.S.D.A. food safety requirements while maintaining traditional production techniques.

Since 1947, Cattaneo Bros. has evolved from a 15 gift pack catalog to a catalog that now offers over 100 gift packs to customers all over the World. What has always been a holiday tradition and continues to be for many throughout generations of families, Cattaneo Bros.' gift packs are now also becoming a tradition shared throughout the year for Birthdays, Valentine's Day, and other Holidays.
