We are thrilled to announce that some of our local favorite wineries here on the Central Coast are now carrying a selection of our beef jerky in their tasting rooms. 

If you did not know already, both red wines and white wines pair well with jerky, both can hold their own with the meat.  We suggest you try our Cowboy-cut style jerky which taste like eating steak without the hassle of silverware and pair it with one of your favorite wines or beers.  ENJOY!

On February 2, 2010 at the California Mid-State Fair Annual Dinner, Mike & Jayne Kaney, our parents and owners of Cattaneo Bros. were inducted into Hall of Fame.  Our family would like to thank the entire Mid-State Fair community for all their your love and support through the loss of our parents Mike and Jayne. The four of us Kaney kids are extremely grateful to have been given this opportunity to attend the dinner and accept this great honor on behalf of our parents.  Below is a blurp of what was read that night about our parents:

Michael and Jayne Kaney devoted their lives to children not just their four kids, but all the children of the agricultural community in SLO County. They believed in agricultural education as a strong foundation for children. Both felt 4-H was a strong leadership program for youth and they believed the Mid-State Fair was an invaluable part of this experience.

Giving back to the community was always an important part of Mike and Jayne’s lives. Mike was the first in the family to go to the Mid-State Fair. He bought an animal at the Junior Livestock Auction in 1971 – the first year he opened his business. In 1987, their first daughter started showing sheep at the Fair and a new family tradition began. For almost the next 20 years, the Kaney family’s only vacation was spent at the Adelaide Inn during the 2nd week of the fair. From PeeWee showmanship to Vegetables and Arts & Crafts, they participated in all parts of the fair. Their daughter Katelyn was even crowned Fair Queen in 2002.

Each year as the fair rolls around you can bet that you will find one of the Kaney kids still active at the Mid-State Fair. And while there is a bench in Mike and Jayne’s honor by the Livestock office, you are sure to find Mike’s spirit in the bleachers during the auction making sure every kid has a buyer and Jayne’s spirit giving an extra hug to the exhausted kids leaving the show ring.
 

We can't think of a better way to spend our President's Day Weekend than to be supporting Cal Poly and supporting our youth in agriculture!  Come join us at Cal Poly's 26th Annual Western Bonanza Junior Livestock Show at the California Mid-State Fairgrounds in Paso Robles, CA.  We will be there all weekend at our booth from 8-5 with special show prices on our entire line of meat snacks.  Our booth will also be full of other great gifts like clothing, jewelry, and home decor!!  Bring your family and friends to this great event that only happens once a year!!  We are a proud supporter of Cal Poly and Agriculture!!  Hope to see you there!

We are pleased to announce that we are switching back to UPS for all our shipping needs.  We really appreciate the customer service that UPS has to offer both us and our customers.  Starting February 9, 2010 all packages will be shipped UPS.  You can choose from ground services to a variety of Air services as well.  For all our P.O. Box customers and customers in Alaska and Hawaii we will continue to send the packages through the United States Postal Service, unless requested otherwise.  Thank-you for your patience through this transition and we promise to continue to provide you with the highest level of customer service that is possible.
